Karnataka Public Service Commission has invited online applications for 319 Gazetted Probationer vacancies in Group A and Group B services across different Karnataka Government departments.
KPSC KAS Gazetted Probationers Recruitment 2026: Karnataka Public Service Commission has released the official notification for direct recruitment to 319 Group A and Group B Gazetted Probationer posts for the 2026–27 recruitment year. The vacancies are available in several important departments of the Karnataka Government.
The recruitment includes prestigious administrative posts such as Assistant Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, Tahsildar Grade-2, Commercial Tax Officer, Assistant Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Chief Officer, Assistant Treasury Officer, Section Officer and other allied-service positions.
Eligible graduates can submit applications online through the KPSC One Time Registration portal from 1 August to 31 August 2026. Selection will be conducted through a Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Personality Test. The preliminary examination is tentatively scheduled for 15 November 2026.

KPSC KAS Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree awarded by a university established by law in India, or an equivalent recognised qualification. The degree requirement applies generally to the notified Group A and Group B Gazetted Probationer posts.
Graduates
Candidates holding a recognised Bachelor’s Degree are eligible, subject to all other conditions in the notification.
Postgraduates
Candidates holding a recognised Master’s Degree or equivalent qualification may also apply.
Result-Awaiting Candidates
Candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examination but whose results are awaited may be admitted to the preliminary examination.
Proof Before Main Examination
Result-awaiting candidates must produce proof of passing the qualifying examination while applying for the Main Examination.

KPSC KAS Selection Process 2026
Preliminary Examination
An objective screening examination will be conducted through two multiple-choice papers carrying a combined total of 400 marks.
Main Written Examination
Candidates shortlisted from the preliminary examination will appear for the descriptive Main Examination.
Personality Test
Candidates qualifying in the Main Examination will be called for a Personality Test carrying 25 marks.
Document Verification
Educational, age, reservation, local-cadre and other eligibility certificates will be verified before final appointment.
Final Merit and Service Allocation
Final merit will be prepared using the marks prescribed under the recruitment rules, followed by service and post allocation according to merit, preference, reservation and vacancy availability.

KPSC KAS Salary and Benefits
The 319 vacancies cover 18 different Group A and Group B services. Therefore, a single common salary figure does not apply to every selected candidate. Pay will be fixed according to the service rules and pay scale applicable to the post allotted to the candidate.
Basic Pay
Pay is determined by the notified service and the corresponding Karnataka Government pay scale.
Dearness Allowance
Dearness Allowance is payable according to the rates announced by the Karnataka Government.
House Rent and Other Allowances
Eligible officers may receive applicable allowances based on the post, place of posting and government rules.
Career Progression
Group A and Group B officers can receive promotion and higher responsibilities according to seniority, service rules and performance.
